CNET: Hack raises fears of unsafe energy networks. “A recent attack on the heart of California’s power distribution center underscores the danger of connecting critical resources to networks that may never be truly secure.” Here’s what I don’t understand: Why does an attack on the ISO’s website raise fears about “critical resources” being under threat from hackers? Surely the ISO’s website isn’t used to manage California’s power distribution, right? Surely they can’t be so dim-witted as to have put the damn power grid right up there on the web… right?
