Journalists who Blog

JD Lasica: Journalists who blog: “With their mix of personal insights, strong opinions and informal writing, weblogs… are showing what works well in the online medium. Unfortunately, personality, opinion and first-person writing are not attributes that leap to mind when one thinks of your average newspaper, offline or online. That’s too bad, because most journalists I know are interesting people and strong writers. But they won’t take to weblogs until they get a clear signal from newsroom execs that they have the freedom to speak and write whatever’s on their minds when they’re outside the office.”
