IHT: Poland sets pullout from Iraq in 2005

So Poland is pulling out, though at least not right away. Remember Poland? The country that Bush kept saying that Kerry had forgotten about when talking about the coalition in Iraq? “… What’s he say to Tony Blair? What’s he say to Alexander Kwasniewski of Poland? … Well, actually, he forgot Poland…”

Judy Dempsey writes in the International Herald Tribune: “In a surprise announcement, Poland said Monday that it would withdraw its troops from Iraq by the end of 2005, leaving the U.S.-led multinational forces the task of finding replacements to fill a crucial security role in south-central Iraq.”
