I just saw this in my referer log:

http://search.msn.com/results.asp?q=software+engineer&FORM=SMCRT&cfg=SMCINITIAL&v=1&un=doc

Apparently if you do a search on MSN for ‘software engineer’, this site comes up number 5, right between Cheesecake the Clown (a software engineer who moonlights as a clown in the Boston area) and Xearl, Warrior Princess Does the Macarena (don’t ask).

Am I that notorietous? (And isn’t that a word?)

This also means that if you’re a Windows user, and you type ‘software engineer’ into the URL bar in Internet Explorer, you’ll see this site as #5 of 111 sites. I have no idea why it’s so high in MSN’s rankings, but you don’t see me complaining now, do you? ;): Smile!

In case you hadn’t noticed, I changed my picture (at the left) for Halloween. I like it so much that I think I’ll leave it. ;): Smile!

Yes, I’m 31 years old today.

When I have a birthday, people always ask me, “So how does it feel to be 31?”

I think it’s kind of a dumb question. I probably feel more different day-to-day than birthday-to-birthday. Know what I mean? Anyway, I’m not really trying to disappoint with my response, but my answer is usually something like, “I feel about the same as I did yesterday.” – whether or not that’s true. What is true is that if I feel different today, it’s almost certainly not because I’m 31 today and I wasn’t yesterday.

Anyway, as far as birthdays go, I see no reason why 31 should be any worse or better than any other, so thanks for wishing me a happy one. I didn’t plan a party, but a buddy bought me tickets to see King Crimson later in the month, and I’m going to go out to a nice dinner tonight with Sally. That will make me feel good, but it doesn’t have very much to do with me turning 31. ;): Smile!
